Willing Suspension of Disbelief
This installation is composed of a structure that houses hundreds of moths within an implied sphere. A cable grid, within the confines of the sphere, acts as the armature that suspends the moths in midair. When the fan at the base is on, the moths flutter in the wind it creates, as if to fly. Some flutter more successfully than others, but none come to life. This piece is not about the simulation of flight: it is literally an attempt to force life into the moths.
